Clinical Features & Accuracy

Are diacritics included?

GTD Speech does not use traditional diacritics, but it still helps you notice when a sound production is off. If a sound is slightly distorted, it will appear in yellow. Stronger distortions appear in red. This makes it easier to quickly spot differences in production, such as a lateral /s/, and decide how to address them using your clinical judgment.

Can GTD Speech diagnose speech sound disorders?

No. GTD Speech is not a diagnostic tool. It is designed to support your clinical decision-making by displaying real-time speech productions so you can more easily observe patterns, errors, and progress over time. The interpretation and final decisions always belong to the SLP.

Can GTD Speech track correct and incorrect sounds?

Yes. GTD Speech includes editing tools that allow you to mark sounds or words as correct or incorrect and highlight specific productions. The system may flag potential distortions using color cues, but all markings and decisions are made by the SLP. The software does not automatically correct speech and serves only as a clinical support tool.

What is GTD Speech?

GTD Speech is a real-time speech-to-IPA transcription tool designed for speech-language pathologists. It automatically converts spoken language into International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) symbols during evaluations and therapy sessions, both in-person and via telepractice.

What languages or dialects does GTD Speech support?

GTD Speech is currently optimized for American English. Additional languages and dialects are planned for future updates as the platform grows and as we continue to learn from user feedback.

Using GTD Speech in Sessions

Does GTD Speech work for telepractice?

Yes. GTD Speech can be used during virtual sessions through your client’s microphone or an audio interface, making it ideal for remote evaluations and therapy.

What devices are compatible?

GTD Speech works best on laptops and desktop computers using Google Chrome. It is also compatible with mobile devices, which can be helpful for flexible use during sessions.

Can I save or export transcriptions?

Yes. You can export session transcriptions as a PDF or copy and paste them directly into your notes or reports.

Are my transcriptions saved?

Yes. Once you finish a session, click “End” and your transcription will be saved on the GTD Speech platform. You can access it anytime for review, adding notes, or downloading.

What is My Resources?

My Resources is your personal workspace inside GTD Speech. You can save websites, files, and notes that support your sessions. It is fully customizable, allowing you to add, remove, or rename tabs so everything you need is easy to find during therapy or evaluations.

What are Community Resources?

Community Resources is a space where you can explore materials and information shared by other users on the platform. You can search for resources, view them, and see ratings from SLPs using a five-star system. This feature makes it easy to quickly find helpful tools, strategies, or ideas and to collaborate with other professionals in our community.

Accounts, Privacy & Billing

Can multiple SLPs share an account?

Clinics, schools, hospitals, and organizations can purchase an organizational license. Each SLP receives their own login, while administrators can manage all users under a single account for simplicity and oversight.

Is GTD Speech HIPAA compliant?

GTD Speech recognizes the importance of HIPAA and PHI protection and maintains safeguards to support compliance with HIPAA requirements and data protection standards.
